UPCOMING EVENTS
On Wednesday, April 28, the Graphic Artist Guild of New York will host "An Evening With Bill Plympton" at the Pratt Institute's Manhattan Campus, 144 West 14th St., 7-9 pm. Bill will talk about his films and career, and how to make money as an independent filmmaker, host a screening of his short films, and give a live drawing demonstration. Bill will then be appearing at the Plastic Paper Animation Festival in Winnipeg, Canada, to host a Master Class screening of his short films, along with a live drawing demonstration, on Saturday, May 8, 1:00 pm at the Park Theatre, 698 Osborne, Admission is $20. Bill will screen a selection of his newest shorts, along with some of his classics, and talk about his career as an independent animator, and all attendees will get a free Bill Plympton drawing. In June, Bill will travel to France for the annual Annecy Animation Festival, where his film "The Cow Who Wanted to Be a Hamburger" will be screened as part of their Short Film Official Competition. The festival runs June 7-12, and is considered one of the biggest animation festivals in the world. This year the festival is celebrating its 50th Anniversary, so don't miss out on all of the festivities! Bill will also be screening some of his classic films as part of the festival's homage to the history of animation. http://www.annecy.org/

And coming up in July is the big annual San Diego Comic-Con, and once again Bill will have a booth to sell his DVDs, books and CD's. We are happy to announce the release of "Hair High" on DVD! Finally we have been able to compile the film and all the DVD extras and we will have the first copies available for sale on Plymptoons.com in just a few weeks. "Hair High" is Bill Plympton's award-winning theatrical film that features the voice talents of Sarah Silverman, Dermot Mulroney, David Carradine, Martha Plimpton and Justin Long in an outrageous romantic zombie comedy that tells the story of a teenage couple, murdered on prom night, who return for revenge. Bill's new short film, "The Cow Who Wanted to Be a Hamburger", has won a number of awards on the film festival circuit, in just a few months. The film won the First Prize for Animation at the Delray Beach Film Festival in Florida, then it picked up the Grand Jury Award for Animation at the Florida Film Festival. Then the film won the Best in Show award at the Citrus Cel Animation Festival in Jacksonville, Florida, and finally it won the Atom.com award for Best Comedy Animated Short at the L.A. Comedy Short Film Festival.

Bill's latest animated feature, "Idiots and Angels" will be released in Los Angeles in September 2010 - we will have more information on this screening shortly, along with further screening dates around the U.S. Please check for updates at http://www.idiotsandangels.com/

Bill Plympton is also thrilled to announce that he s publishing a book with Rizzoli New York, to be released in Spring 2011.  The book will feature tons of art from throughout his career, some created especially for the book, as well as Bill s personal story, complete with anecdotes and adventures about his life, career, and filmmaking.
