FESTIVAL SEASON

And it's NOT too early to start thinking about San Diego - July will be here before you know it, and that means one thing - San Diego Comic-Con! This year's Con runs July 21-24, with a Preview Night July 20, and simply everyone will be there! Book your hotels and flights now! For more info click here.

UPCOMING EVENTS - MARCH / APRIL

Bill Plympton's animation will be shown as part of the Big Screen Retrospective in Manhattan on Monday, April 25, 7-8 pm.
Come see Bill's films like "Guard Dog", "Guide Dog", "The Fan and the Flower" and "Santa the Fascist Years" projected in GIANT scale, on a large- format LED screen on the side of a building! All through April, the Big Screen Project will be featuring the work of animators like Emily Hubley, Nina Paley and Debra Solomon, so be sure to check it out! Bill Plympton will be in attendance on April 25, and will have some of his DVDs for sale at the event.

On Wednesday, April 27, 6:30 pm, the Society of Illustrators will host a celebration of the publishing of Rizzoli's new book "Independently Animated, Bill Plympton".
It will be a gala party, with live music by the internationally famous Nicole Renaud, premiere short films, an illustrated talk by Bill Plympton, and lots of other surprises. Come be a part of an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime event! Bring all your friends, everyone gets a free Bill Plympton drawing! Book signing to follow.

And on Monday, May 2, 4-8 pm, the brilliant artists at Bill Plympton's studio will be holding an art sale. Have you ever wanted to own a piece of animation art from "Your Face" or "Idiots and Angels" or "The Cow Who Wanted to Be a Hamburger"? Well, now's your chance! The art will be priced to sell (How do we do it? Volume, volume, volume!) so you can proudly display your original drawing from a masterpiece like "How to Kiss", or give a drawing from "Guard Dog" as a gift to your favorite pet lover.

Also in conjunction with the release of Bill's book, he will be doing a book signing at the School of Visual Arts on May 18, 6:30 pm in the ampitheather, at 209 E. 23rd St. in New York.

"Bill Plympton - Up Close and Personal!" - Saturday, May 21st
Meet the king of independent animation in a small venue with a limited number of seats. Bill will give a presentation and do some drawings. Attendees will get the chance to chat with Bill and have him to check out your portfolio.
