Class 3 - Bill Plympton's School of Animation 2025

Bill Plympton's School of Animation continues with a private lesson for an aspiring animator, where he shares his trade secrets, inspirations, and techniques.

In this session, Mr. Plympton takes the time to introduce his new student to the craft of a good character design - How the shape, height, color, and shadow of a character effect the tone that the overall film will convey.

This one's packed with lots of POV drawing shots and a variety of character design samples that Bill just made up on the fly.

Knowing the relationship between the characters and the story is pivotal to making a great animated film.

Thank you to all of our Patrons for your support, see you in the next video.

And don't forget to keep on drawin'!
